BUTTE, Mont. – As St. Patrick's Day approaches, preparations are underway for one of Butte's most celebrated events. Starting Monday, March 17 at 5:00 a.m., the streets around uptown Butte will close until 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 18 to accommodate the festivities. Still today, nearly a quarter of Butte's population is of Irish decent. Consider celebrating this St. Patrick's Day in the "most Irish place in the U.S."! Events kick off with a parade in historic Uptown Butte at 12pm. Following the parade revelers are encouraged to get a bite to eat from one of Butte’s many fine eateries or food trucks.
